How to Nurture the Spirit of Self-Reliance?

How to Nurture the Spirit of Self-Reliance

Ever since I can remember, I've always wondered what time is.

I thought, what if events from my past are still resonating in a way that it could be said they still exist? What if time is something beyond linear? Is that just a perception that it flows in one direction? Or am I missing something?

In order for anything to happen, everything has to happen

Yes, time appears to move us ahead, pulling us through our lives. But what if that's just the conventional perception of it. What if the past, present, and future all exist now? From that point of view, all moments are just relative to each other within dimensions.

Sure. Why not?

Quantum physics theorizes that it's all dimensional. The past, present, and future are all happening concurrently in multiple, parallel realms, and everything is connected.

Classic physics, on the contrary, has taught us to disregard the magic that underlies earthly life. People are made to believe that only what we can prove with our imperfect instruments or perceive with our physiological sensations is real. But such reality is not reliable: it’s revealed to us only to the extent our perception allows it.

Cosmic consciousness knows only the Eternal Now and keeps it coming

What we can experience is only the moment we’re currently in. There’s only now and it’s always now.

The ancient Maya spoke about the term Zuvuya (zoo-vu-ya) – the loops of linear time that lie like a flat figure eight. The present moment, the Eternal Now, is in the center of 8, at the meeting point of the loops of the past and the future. And since time moves in such loops, then we’ll again find ourselves where we’ve just been, and have already been where we’re now going.

I believe that the future is predetermined only in a sense that within the context of cosmic consciousness all possible futures exist. There’s only a probability for a future event, never certainty.

The future may as well exist now, though we can't perceive any of it until a part of it is ready to splatter itself all over us in what we call the present moment.

These infinite futures as well as infinite pasts all manifest themselves as the Eternal Now. I perceive this present moment as a portal through which life flows. The task is to cultivate this awareness, to feel life fully in the moment.

An allusion to a seed

If we take the seed as a reference, it can only be planted in the present. And only when the future becomes the present, it will grow into the mature plant. But if to look broader, the seed has that potential to grow, right now. It's all there in it. We just don't see things this way. One will one day be the other, and one depends on the other. And everything is already in one.

What is certain, time is much more than what it appears to be. Or there’s no time at all.

´Help yourself´ coming from the future

As the seed in the example above, you join your past, present, and future selves, letting them interact and help.

What if I tell you that you can turn to your present self from the future to offer support and energy?

But how is it possible, you ask?

For attaining such self-reliance, you first need to get accustomed to carrying your thoughts into the past, helping yourself in difficult situations that require important decisions.

And this is not about setting yourself up for a different choice in the past. It's about the nature of self-confidence when making the choice. It’s about the power of your decision.

Although, if we take into account the hypothesis that at the moment of making a different choice in the past, a new life may split off along a tangent into a parallel universe (while our first life, true life, continues as it is or unchanged), we can live both lives in the multiverse. So we could, in a way, accelerate our spiritual growth.

But even if that’s not the case, by doing so you establish a strong connection between yourself in the past and yourself in the present. As well as between your present and future selves, which all develop in parallel, quantum time.

It sounds odd, doesn’t it? But as soon as you comprehend its basic principle, you’ll discover an amazing way of self-reliance.

The habit of systematically helping your past self may mean that in the future you’ll also send help to yourself today. With the regular use of this practice, all of your selves (past, present, and future) learn to rely on each other. You’ll have confidence that when you turn to your future self with a request or question, it will send you the right clues.

This practice has been an incredible revelation to me. It’s a gratifying feeling to know that in a difficult moment I can always count on support from myself in the future.
